Just one in two people aged 65 or older in the Faroe Islands received the free flu vaccine last year, according to the Faroese Health Authority.

The authority reports that 50 percent of eligible seniors were vaccinated against influenza, while 34 percent received the Covid-19 vaccine. The vaccination offer was available from October 1 to December 20, 2025, for those aged 65 and above as well as individuals in high-risk groups.

Vaccination rates for 2025 closely match those of previous years, the Health Authority noted.
