The final results of the Faroese parliamentary election confirm that Sjúrður Skaale of the Social Democratic Party received 10,823 personal votes, breaking the previous record by two and a half times, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Both Skaale and Anna Falkenberg of the Union Party surpassed the existing personal vote record, though Skaale secured nearly double Falkenberg’s total. Falkenberg received 5,304 personal votes, placing her second in the rankings.

Skaale led from the start of the count, ultimately finishing with a commanding margin. The high vote totals for both candidates reflect their strong individual support in the election.
