Many election posters that were blown away in recent strong winds have ended up at the fire station in Tórshavn and will be discarded if unclaimed, reports Faroese broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.

Firefighters in the Faroese capital have collected numerous posters, particularly from the People’s Party, according to Heini Østerø, station chief at Tórshavn Fire Department. The posters were gathered over the weekend and on Monday, with green-coloured ones—associated with the party—being the most common.

“Anyone can retrieve their posters from the station in Havn at no cost, but we haven’t received any cakes in return,” Østerø joked, noting that while some treats had been offered, no formal rewards had been given.

If the posters remain unclaimed, they will be removed from the premises.
