Faroese ferry schedule adjusted to allow northern voters to reach polling stations
The Faroese ferry operator Smyril Line has rescheduled two departures on Tuesday to ensure residents of Suðuroy’s northern villages can vote in the island’s parliamentary election, public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Earlier sailings were cancelled due to weather, prompting the company to move the 16:00 departure from Krambatangi to 15:30 and the 19:00 departure from Tórshavn to 18:00. The changes aim to give northern voters time to travel south to polling stations before they close.
Edvard Leo, transport coordinator at Strandfaraskip Landsins, confirmed the adjustments. No further details were provided on potential disruptions to other routes.
