The Faroese Health Authority will this year inspect personal hygiene and disinfection procedures at 64 food production facilities, public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Personal hygiene is critical in all food production, including fisheries and businesses supplying the Faroese market—such as bakeries—the authority stated. At facilities using disinfectants, inspectors will verify whether the products are approved for food production and used within permitted limits.
Last year, the Health Authority examined nutritional values, vitamins, and minerals in Faroese apples, carrots, and lamb meat, both fresh and dried.
