Faroese visual impairment association appoints new director

The Faroese Association for the Visually Impaired (Sjóndepilin) will get a new director, with Birna Vestergaard set to replace Karin Kass, who has led the organisation since 1997, reports Kringvarp Føroya.

Kass announced her decision to step down after nearly three decades in the role. The association, which employs 16 people across counselling, daily support, and workshop services, will begin the transition on 1 May or by mutual agreement.

Applications for the position closed on 31 March.

Sjóndepilin provides support to visually impaired individuals in the Faroe Islands, offering guidance, daily living assistance, and vocational workshops.
