Danish royal twins to be confirmed in April ceremony
The 15-year-old twins of Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, will be confirmed on 18 April in Fredensborg Palace Church, the Danish Royal House announced Sunday.
According to a statement, the royal siblings attended a Sunday service at the same church alongside their grandmother, Queen Margrethe, as part of their confirmation preparations. The Royal House shared images from the visit, noting that Fredensborg Palace Church has hosted royal confirmations for over a century.
Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen, the royal family’s confessor, will officiate the ceremony. He previously presided over the confirmations of their older siblings, Crown Prince Christian in 2021 and Princess Isabella in 2022.
While Prince Vincent attends 8th grade at Tranegård School in Hellerup, Princess Josephine is enrolled at Spir Folk High School near Juelsminde in southeastern Jutland. The Royal House did not specify why Queen Margrethe accompanied the twins to church.
Traditionally, royal confirmands address the press briefly after the ceremony, though it remains unclear whether the twins will follow this custom. Their parents, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess, are currently on an extended state visit to Australia, with Crown Prince Christian serving as regent in their absence.
