Violent clashes between football fans ahead of Rosenborg-Vålerenga match
Around 40 to 50 supporters of Rosenborg and Vålerenga were involved in a mass brawl in Trondheim late Saturday night, local police report.
The incident occurred at Microbryggeriet in central Trondheim, with police receiving the call at 22:45, according to Trøndelag police district. Authorities confirmed the fight had ended but noted tensions remained high in the area.
“Police are present in Trondheim city centre with significant resources and will maintain a low threshold for reporting public order offences,” operations manager Christopher James White stated in the police log.
No injuries have been reported so far. Police warned that individuals charged with violence or disorderly conduct would also be banned from attending Sunday’s match between Rosenborg and Vålerenga at Lerkendal Stadium.
The clash follows a similar incident in November last year, when police were called to a football pub in Trondheim after reports of fighting among fans.
