Daycare worker assaulted in Järvenpää while children were present

A city employee working in early childhood education in Järvenpää was assaulted on Friday during an outdoor activity, according to a statement from the city, as reported by Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

Children were present at the time of the attack but were quickly moved indoors by other staff members. The incident did not target the children, the city clarified. The injured worker was taken for medical treatment, and police have detained a suspect in connection with the assault.

Authorities have contacted the guardians of the children who witnessed the event. Support services have been arranged for both the children and staff involved.
