Faroese politician calls for better dialogue during local visit
Kringvarp Føroya (KVF) reports that Faroese politician Kári Vatnhamar met with journalist Jóhann Lützen of the newspaper Norðlýsið during a visit to Klaksvík.
Vatnhamar, who serves as a member of the Faroese Parliament, accompanied Lützen on a tour of the town to highlight issues such as overheating radiators and ongoing construction in the city center. The discussion also touched on broader municipal challenges.
“Here in the north, it’s either work or decline,” Vatnhamar said during the tour, emphasizing the need for proactive measures. He also mentioned plans to contact authorities regarding pollution concerns in the Barents Sea, stating that if he were in Klaksvík, he would take immediate action.
Lützen concluded the tour by welcoming Vatnhamar’s openness to dialogue, saying, “We receive and give with open arms.”
The meeting was part of Vatnhamar’s broader engagement with local communities, reflecting ongoing political discussions in the Faroe Islands.
