Varkaat broke into jewellery store in Tuusula using stolen excavator loader
Police suspect a break-in at a jewellery store in Tuusula, southern Finland, was carried out using an excavator loader stolen earlier in Mäntsälä.
The incident was reported to police in the early hours of 20 March, with multiple patrol units from Eastern Uusimaa and Häme responding to the scene on Vanha Valtatie in Tuusula.
According to investigators, suspects gained entry by smashing the store’s display window and security gate with the excavator loader. Witnesses reported seeing a light or grey sedan with its trunk open in the store’s yard, believed to be connected to the crime. The suspects fled the scene at high speed in the direction of Ohkola.
Police are treating the case as a serious theft and motor vehicle misuse offence. They have not yet determined the value of the stolen goods. Authorities are appealing for public assistance in locating the suspects and gathering information about the movements of both the excavator loader and the sedan during the night of the incident.
