The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a warning for a high risk of grass fires across large parts of Sweden on Tuesday, SVT Nyheter reports.

The alert covers most of Götaland, eastern Svealand, and southeastern Norrland between 11:00 and 17:00 local time. Dry grass exposed after snowmelt in these areas is highly flammable, and fires can spread rapidly, according to SMHI.

The agency warns that activities such as garden burning or sparks from machinery could easily ignite fires. It urges the public to exercise extreme caution during the high-risk period.
