A car crashed into a shop window in central Turku on Monday evening, shattering the glass but causing no injuries, according to local emergency services.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on Eerikinkatu street, reports Yle. Duty fire chief Jari Peltoniemi of the Southwest Finland Rescue Department said the driver had stopped at a bus stop and accidentally pressed the accelerator while searching for something inside the vehicle.

“The speed was very low, but the shop window broke in the collision,” Peltoniemi stated. No one was injured, and the store was open at the time of the accident.

Authorities have not released further details about the driver or the vehicle involved.
