Faroese fishing company Regn orders new freezing trawler for 2028 delivery

The Faroese fishing company Regn has signed an agreement with Norwegian shipbuilder Stadyard for the construction of a new freezing trawler, scheduled for completion in summer 2028, according to a statement from the shipyard.

The vessel’s hull will be built in Poland before final assembly in Norway. At 50 metres long, the trawler will accommodate a crew of 17 and feature a 630 cubic metre freezing hold. Regn, part of the Framherji group, currently operates the trawlers Stapan and Jógvan I.

No financial details of the contract were disclosed.
