Armed robbery suspect flees in Lahti after early morning store heist

A man suspected of robbing a store in central Lahti on Monday morning remains at large, with police warning he is armed and dangerous, reports Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

The robbery occurred at around 7:25 AM on Rautatienkatu street. Police believe a firearm may have been used, though no injuries were reported. The suspect fled on foot toward the ski jump towers via Vuorikatu street, taking a small amount of cash.

Authorities describe the suspect as a light-haired man approximately 180 cm tall, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers, and a white NY-cap with a black logo. He was also wearing a face mask. The public is urged not to approach him and to report any sightings immediately to emergency services at 112.

The Häme Police Department has launched a preliminary investigation into the incident under the charge of aggravated robbery.
