Faroe Islands’ tourism agency confirms Time Magazine editor’s interest in visiting

The Faroe Islands’ tourism board has confirmed that the editor-in-chief of Time Magazine is considering a visit to the archipelago, following the inclusion of two Faroese destinations in the publication’s annual list of the world’s best places to travel.

Guðrið Højgaard, CEO of Visit Faroe Islands, told national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya that the recognition holds “exceptionally great significance” for the islands’ tourism industry. The list, published by the US-based magazine, features Res spa and PAZ among its top 100 global destinations for 2026.

Højgaard revealed that Time editor Jessica Sibley has expressed direct interest in visiting the Faroe Islands and has contacted the tourism agency for further information.
