Rescue operation launched after clothing found on shoreline in Vesterålen
Police in Nordland have initiated a rescue operation after a passerby discovered clothing on the shore in Storland municipality, Vesterålen. Authorities suspect someone may have been swimming in the area earlier on Sunday.
“We have information that individuals were bathing in the vicinity today,” operations leader May Wenche Hansen stated in a press update. Police urge anyone who was swimming in the area to contact them immediately by calling 02800.
The discovery was reported at 14:18 local time. Further details about the clothing or potential missing persons have not yet been released.
