Estonian man dies in skiing accident at Himos ski resort

An Estonian man in his 50s has died after colliding with a rock formation at the Himos ski resort in Jämsä, central Finland, police confirmed on Friday.

The accident occurred on a medium-difficulty slope on the resort’s northwest route. Emergency personnel, including resort staff, attempted resuscitation, but the skier was pronounced dead at the scene.

Central Finland Police are investigating the incident as a routine death inquiry, with no suspicion of criminal activity. Authorities have cooperated with Estonia’s police and Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation due to the victim’s nationality.
