Viking Grace resumes journey after technical issue
The Viking Line ferry Viking Grace, traveling from Stockholm to Turku, resumed its journey after a brief stop due to a technical issue. The vessel is now expected to arrive in Turku approximately one hour behind schedule.
The ferry, which departed Stockholm earlier today, stopped for about two hours near Kapellskär to address a technical malfunction, as confirmed by Viking Line’s communications manager Johanna Boijer-Svahnström. The specific nature of the issue was not disclosed.
As a result of the delay, the Viking Grace will proceed directly to Turku without stopping in Mariehamn, meaning day-trip passengers will not be able to switch vessels. The company has assured that accommodations and meals will be provided for these passengers on board.
Due to the delay, the ferry is now expected to arrive in Turku at 20:40, about an hour later than the scheduled 19:50. Its departure for Stockholm is planned for 21:30.
