National celebration for children commemorating Independence Day hosted by Prime Minister Petteri Orpo at National Opera in Finland

Today, a national celebration for children commemorating Independence Day is taking place at the National Opera. The event is hosted by Prime Minister Petteri Orpo. Two children born in 2014 from every municipality in Finland have been invited to attend.

Following the official proceedings, guests can look forward to a variety of entertainment, delicious food, both sweet and savory, as well as musical performances, according to the Government’s official announcements. The event will be presented by actor Christoffer Strandberg.

For those unable to attend in person, the children’s celebration, including greetings and performances, will be broadcast live online.
