This fall, Hollywood actors have become a topic of conversation in Tampere, Finland, notably due to Jason Segel’s visits to a local café. The American star, involved in the filming of the movie “The Trip,” has been spotted chatting with residents during his two trips to Café & Bakery Mimosa, where he enjoyed coffee and interacted with musicians and other patrons.

Segel’s charm left a lasting impression; café owner Mimmi Kirchberg recounted that he wished to return, stating, “I come back again.” Following his initial visit, he returned the next day but Kirchberg was not present. There remains anticipation in the café about whether he will visit a third time. Segel complimented the city, noting its resemblance to his hometown in California.

The filming of “The Trip,” a horror-comedy, has garnered positive reviews from its cast and crew regarding Tampere’s safety and hospitality, highlighting the peaceful atmosphere. Other actors from the film, including Timothy Olyphant and Juliette Lewis, have also been spotted in the area. The production, while classified as an indie film in Hollywood terms, is significant for the Finnish context and employs numerous locals in various roles, from production to post-production.

The shooting is expected to continue in Tampere until early December. The team’s presence has been praised by local film program director Fanny Heinonen, who expressed pride in how residents have welcomed the filmmakers, providing a distinctly “Finnish buzz” around the project.
