Final debates for 2024 parliamentary elections in Iceland to feature audience feedback via RÚV Stjörnur app
The final debates ahead of the 2024 parliamentary elections in Iceland will take place this evening on RÚV. Viewers at home can participate in the discussions by rating the party leaders involved in the debates through the RÚV Stjörnur app.
This marks the first instance where the audience will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the leaders’ performances.
During the event, which begins at 19:40, viewers can assign star ratings to each candidate. The ratings can be submitted either through the app or a designated online window. It is not mandatory to rate all leaders, as viewers can opt to leave certain participants unscored; this will not impact the overall average for those leaders.
The ratings will be revealed shortly after the debates in a program hosted by Gísli Marteinn, who will also announce the outcomes of the voting. Voters have the freedom to adjust their scores until the voting closes during Gísli Marteinn’s show. Importantly, there is no cost associated with voting, and many might recognize the RÚV Stjörnur app from other popular events like Söngvakeppnin and Eurovision.
The app is accessible via both the App Store and Google Play, allowing users to engage with the activity conveniently from their smartphones.
