One-third of Faroese residents living in Denmark have qualifications in the healthcare and welfare sectors. According to recent statistics from the national statistics office, 258 individuals hold degrees in childcare or youth services, with the majority being educators.
Sanna á Løgmansbø, the chairperson of the Pedagogical Association, emphasizes the demand for these professionals in the Faroe Islands. She acknowledges the responsibility of her organization to facilitate the return of educators back home.
The current data highlights a pressing need for qualified individuals in these sectors, as the Faroese community contemplates ways to attract their skilled workforces from abroad.
