Marius Borg Høiby, a public figure related to the Norwegian royal family, has gained significant attention following his recent arrests and legal troubles. He was taken into custody by Oslo police late Monday night, marking his third arrest in a few months, although this time, the Norwegian Intelligence Service (PST) was not notified beforehand.

According to police officials, there was no need to inform PST beyond internal communications, as the situation was already being handled. They did, however, notify the palace when they entered the area to execute a search warrant related to ongoing investigations. Høiby resides at Skaugum, an area under the watch of security services.

Høiby’s initial arrest on August 4 raised concerns for potential evidence tampering, leading police to seek detention in connection with allegations of two rapes. His first arrest involved the seizure of his mobile phone, which was reportedly damaged and lacked a SIM card.

The royal palace had been informed of Høiby’s situation back on August 4 when police alerted them to a possible arrest, indicating that the matter could influence security arrangements surrounding the royal family. In subsequent weeks, Høiby faced additional accusations of violence, property damage, and threats stemming from incidents involving former partners, adding to his growing legal challenges.

Most recently, his detention was extended as he faces multiple charges, including rape and violence in close relationships. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Høiby denies many of the charges and claims the allegations against him reflect severe misjudgments by law enforcement. His lawyer contends the rape charges are unfounded, sparking ongoing discussions about the legal implications of Høiby’s actions.
