A legal action has been initiated for bankruptcy against the company Sisuste-Peltoniemi, which has failed to deliver mattresses sold to consumers. The petition was filed by Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company, claiming that Sisuste-Peltoniemi has not paid about €13,500 in pension contributions, including interest, for the years 2022 to 2024.

Sisuste-Peltoniemi is linked to two other firms, Lux Beds From North and Vita Talalay, all of which are interconnected through their mattress sales. Creditors have also sought bankruptcy for Lux Beds and Vita Talalay due to similar failures to fulfill customer orders. Last week, the owner of all three companies was taken into custody on suspicion of fraud.

Previously, Sisuste-Peltoniemi entered into corporate restructuring but the Päijät-Häme District Court has announced that the restructuring process will end in August 2024, according to the insolvency registry. The news of the bankruptcy filing against Sisuste-Peltoniemi was first reported by a local news outlet.
