Committee on Government Affairs to review complaints against Minister of Fisheries Dennis Holm in Norway

The Committee on Government Affairs is scheduled to meet next week.

The committee is still awaiting an initial report from the Parliament’s administration regarding the complaint against Dennis Holm, the Minister of Fisheries. However, the committee has been informed that the report is forthcoming, as stated by Hans Jacob Thomsen, the committee’s chair.

Parliamentarian Árni Skaale submitted a complaint against Dennis Holm concerning the allocation of black-cod quotas on May 5. Dennis Holm approved a common quota of 35,000 tons for black cod with a set limit.

Additionally, the committee has received another matter for review. MEGD has filed a complaint against the government for failing to submit legislative proposals for public consultation before they are presented in Parliament. The organization argues that the government frequently introduces legislative proposals that diminish the rights of individuals with disabilities, without consulting relevant organizations or assessing the impact of these changes.

MEGD contends that this issue is not exclusive to the current government but has been a pattern in previous administrations as well, which have expedited matters without proper consultation.
