Today marks a significant change in the antenna television network across Finland, with channel reassignments taking place between 10 AM and 3 PM. Viewers do not need to prepare in advance for these adjustments. During the transition period, interruptions in service are expected on various channels throughout Finland. According to network operator Digita, channels such as MTV Sub, Liv, Jim, Alfa, One Way TV, and Iskuri.net will experience the longest disruptions, lasting between 10 to 30 minutes, while other channels may have shorter outages.

Post-transition, high-definition (HD) channels will be available in the first 20 channel slots, with standard channels shifting to positions 21 to 39. This change is part of a gradual move towards exclusive HD broadcasts. Yle’s TV broadcasts will fully convert to HD by spring 2025, while commercial channels are scheduled for the switch during summer 2025.

For the majority of television sets, channel scanning will occur automatically. However, viewers whose devices do not perform this action will need to conduct a manual scan. Detailed instructions for this process can be found in the user manual of the television or on Digita’s website. If a manual scan is unsuccessful, it is recommended that users reset their device to factory settings. To verify whether your equipment is compatible with HD channels, you can check specific listings online, although not all devices may be included. Residents in apartment buildings unsure about their television’s connection to the antenna network are advised to consult their property manager for assistance.
