Voting for Iceland’s upcoming parliamentary elections has commenced for citizens residing in Tenerife, beginning this morning and concluding at 2 PM. Iceland’s Consulate in the Canary Islands has organized a second opportunity for off-site voting on November 21, from 10 AM to 12 PM, which will take place at the town hall in Adeje.

The initial off-site voting commenced at the H10 Conquistador Hotel, located on the American beach, where Icelandic citizens can also apply for passports and ID cards. Additionally, residents will have the option to vote at the establishment “Why Not Lago” on the coming Tuesday between 9 AM and 1 PM.

For those in Alicante, Spain, voting will also be available next week. In Torrevieja, off-site voting is scheduled from November 20 to 22, held at the Piscina bar in Orihuela, from 1 PM to 4 PM.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will facilitate the transportation of votes back to the National Electoral Commission in Iceland. The Consulate in the Canary Islands is responsible for ensuring that all votes cast in these locations are taken home in carry-on luggage for official processing by citizen services.

It is important for voters opting for off-site voting to remember that they are personally responsible for ensuring their ballots reach Iceland, as these votes are not submitted in person at designated polling places. More detailed information is available on the official government website.
