A new record for November temperatures has been set in Iceland, with a remarkable high of 23.8 degrees Celsius measured at Kvísker in Öræfi around midday today. This surpasses the previous record of 23.2 degrees, which was recorded at Dalatanga in 1999.

Meteorologist Birgir Örn Höskuldsson from the Icelandic Meteorological Office indicated that while the measurement from Kvísker still needs formal confirmation, there are no indications that it should be questioned. This new temperature record highlights the unusual weather patterns currently being experienced in the region, drawing attention to the ongoing discussions about climate change and its impact on seasonal weather variability.
