Jógvan í Skorini appointed new mayor of Eiði Municipality in Faroe Islands

Jógvan í Skorini has been appointed as the new mayor of Eiði Municipality following the signing of an agreement by the majority from List A.

According to the agreement, í Skorini, who received the highest number of personal votes, will take on the role of mayor. List A secured four seats on the municipal council, with í Skorini garnering a total of 96 votes, while List B earned three seats.

í Skorini announced that the majority will hold a meeting this evening at 7 PM, during which they plan to finalize their organizational structure.

The outgoing mayor, Ansy Høghamar, who represented List B, was not re-elected, receiving only 23 votes. Jógvan í Skorini previously served as mayor of Eiði but did not run for a position in the last municipal election four years ago.
