Mayor Súni í Hjøllum wins election in Nes Municipality, Faroe Islands

In a recent local election, the incumbent mayor of Nes Municipality, Súni í Hjøllum, secured a significant victory, garnering 339 votes—250 more than the candidate who placed second. This triumph showcases Hjøllum’s solid position in the fast-growing community located on the eastern side of Skálafjørður.

Additionally, there has been notable turnover in the local council at Toftir. New members joining the council include Atli Fróði Johansen, Høgni Hansen, Henning Erhardsson Joensen, and Niels Jacob Nielsen.
