Levi Mørk wins mayoral race in Vágur, securing 131 votes

The recent mayoral race in Vágur has been highly competitive, involving candidates from three prominent parties: the Union Party, the Social Democratic Party, and the People’s Party. Key contenders for the position included the incumbent mayor, Bjarni Johansen, and Levi Mørk, both representing the Social Democratic Party.

Ultimately, Levi Mørk emerged victorious, receiving 131 votes, the highest of all candidates. Arni Brattaberg followed closely behind with 120 votes, while Johansen, the current mayor, garnered 108 votes, placing him third.

The electoral results indicate a strong showing for List E, which secured 38.2% of the votes and will have four representatives on the municipal council. List C received 38.5% of the votes, earning three council seats, while List B captured 22.3% of the votes, resulting in two representatives.

The newly elected municipal council of Vágur will consist of nine members, reflecting a diverse political landscape in the region.
