Residents elect new mayor Hans Anders Jacobsen in Sjóvar municipality

In a surprising turn of events, the residents of the Sjóvar municipality have elected a new mayor, Hans Anders Jacobsen. He secured 75 votes, narrowly defeating the incumbent mayor, Artur Johansen, who garnered 72 votes.

The women’s list performed well in the local council elections, securing three seats. The elected council members from this list are Noomi Káradóttir Rasmussen, Sandra Ljósá Østerø, and Drós Ellingsgaard.

On the other hand, the candidates who will represent the council in Strendur are Jóhan Herlufson Funn and Sonni Johansen.
