Many gathered to bid farewell to Erik Clausen during his memorial service at the Nordre Kapel in Vestre Cemetery, Copenhagen. The revered filmmaker and multifaceted artist passed away on October 30 after a prolonged illness at the age of 82.

Attendees included actors, artists, and colleagues from the film industry. One notable presence was director Søren Kragh-Jacobsen, who reflected on Clausen’s role as a beloved social satirist, describing him as extremely kind, sweet, and very funny.

Longtime friend Niels Hausgaard was also in attendance. The pair had entertaining and whimsical conversations about life in the 1990s TV series “Sære scener fra land og by,” where they portrayed contrasting personalities—Clausen as the quintessential Copenhagen native and Hausgaard as the grounded Jutlander. When asked to share his memories of Erik Clausen, Hausgaard succinctly remarked, “A good person.”

Other guests included actors Bodil Jørgensen, Nicolas Bro, Charlotte Fich, and Allan Olsen, among many others.
