Orpo addresses alarming survey results on attitudes towards violence against women in Finland

Finland’s Prime Minister, Petteri Orpo, recently addressed the results of a new survey conducted by Nytkis on his Instagram account. The survey revealed that one in four men under the age of 35 believes that women can provoke violence against themselves through their appearance, clothing, or behavior. Among all surveyed men, one in five shared this belief.

In his post, Orpo emphasized the necessity for society to work collectively towards changing these attitudes and eliminating violence against women. He acknowledged that while not all men think women deserve violence, the number who do is still alarmingly high.

Orpo firmly stated that there is no justification for violence, asserting that no one deserves to experience it under any circumstances. He called on men to take responsibility for their attitudes and actions.
