Disruptions reported at Trondheim Airport due to heavy fog in Norway
There have been significant operational disruptions at Trondheim Airport due to heavy fog, according to airport director Marit Helene Stigen. As of 3:15 PM, a total of 15 flights have been affected. Stigen reported that these flights either returned to their origin or were redirected over Værnes to continue their journeys.
Landing in foggy conditions poses a considerable challenge, and no flights have successfully landed since 11:30 AM. The situation remains uncertain, with Stigen expressing hope that weather conditions will improve as the evening rush approaches.
“We are closely monitoring the weather forecast in constant communication with the control tower,” she said. “There is a possibility of changes in conditions after 4 PM.” Stigen urged passengers to stay updated with information from their airlines.
