Firefighters respond to blaze at Hotel Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands

Firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after a fire was reported at 2:30 PM yesterday. The fire was declared extinguished a considerable time later.

Guests at Hotel Tórshavn were evacuated due to smoke entering the building through the ventilation system.

According to police assessments, the fire appears to have originated from a garbage bin, although this has not been confirmed. A fire technician will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

Despite the intensity of the blaze and the significant amount of smoke, authorities have stated that there was no immediate danger to the public.
