The MAF Faroe Islands organization is requesting the Finance Committee to support its operations with a grant of 250,000 kroner.

MAF, founded after World War II, currently operates 138 aircraft across 28 countries. The organization provides air transport services for NGOs such as UNICEF, the Red Cross, DanChurchAid, Lutheran Mission, Mercy Ships, the World Food Program, WHO, and over 2,000 other organizations.

According to MAF, the organization ensures effective air transportation services, often in regions where no other airline operates. Their flights carry essential supplies, healthcare personnel, pastors, missionaries, teachers, and other aid workers.

MAF Faroe Islands, part of the Danish chapter, was established in 1989. In its request for funding from the parliament’s Finance Committee, the organization highlighted the urgent need for financial support as a Faroese citizen prepares to take on the role of pilot with MAF.
