Danish military cancels Air Show 2025 at Air Station Aalborg
The Danish military has announced the cancellation of the Danish Air Show 2025, which was scheduled to take place at Air Station Aalborg in June next year. This marks the second consecutive year that the event, one of the country’s largest single-day gatherings attracting over 100,000 visitors, has been canceled.
Despite significant investments amounting to billions of kroner in the military over the coming years as part of a defense agreement, these funds will not salvage next year’s event. Major Morten Valentin Jensen, a press officer at Air Transport Wing, emphasized the need for the military to prioritize its resources decisively.
He noted that the cancellation is regrettable, as many look forward to this occasion, which allows military personnel to showcase their various roles and educational opportunities to the public.
The military stated in a press release that the current unstable security political climate continuously challenges and requires adjustments to meet national and international obligations. Originally set to occur this year, the Danish Air Show was postponed to 2025 after Air Station Aalborg took over hosting responsibilities from Air Station Skrydstrup.
The last Danish Air Show held at Aalborg in 2018 attracted around 130,000 spectators. Although Aalborg is slated to host the Danish Air Show again in 2026, a final decision on its occurrence has yet to be made.
