Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration launches tender for Fossvogs Bridge construction in Reykjavík

The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration has launched a tender for land reclamation and coastal protection work related to the construction of a new bridge over Fossvogur. This tender, advertised in the European Economic Area, officially marks the beginning of the construction of the Fossvogs Bridge, which is intended for the City Bus service, public buses, as well as pedestrians and cyclists. It will also prioritize access for police, ambulances, and fire services.

The tender will remain open until December 10th. This project is a collaborative effort between the Road Administration, the City of Reykjavík, and Kópavogur Municipality, with a target completion date set for November 1, 2026.
