Short children may struggle with their height, potentially leading to self-esteem issues. Artist Hugo shared in an interview that he experienced growth problems during his youth, which led him to receive hormone injections at a children’s hospital to promote growth. According to the medical reference book Duodecim, the height growth in boys and girls is largely attributed to genetics, and various illnesses can cause a slowdown in growth. Today, poor growth in children can often be treated with growth hormone therapy.
