American presidential election sparks interest at Glasir school in Faroe Islands

The American presidential election is generating significant interest worldwide, including among students at Glasir school in the Faroe Islands.
Organized by the social studies department, the event will offer attendees the chance to hear from Glasir’s educators who will explain the political system in the United States. Additionally, local experts will analyze the election, providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
The event will also feature live coverage of the American election on various television channels.
The schedule for the evening is as follows: – 16:00: Annika Soll welcomes everyone. – 16:00: What is the voting system in the USA? A presentation by Bill Sondum. – 16:15: What is the difference between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump? A session by Angajo E. Olsen. – 16:30: What role do media and political communication play in electoral battles? A discussion led by Annika Soll and Ann Mari Strøm. – 16:45: Break – 17:00: Sofa talk and debate among experts Regin Berg and Erik Løksagarð Absalonsen, moderated by the renowned journalist Beinta Løwe. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions. – 18:30: The school will provide burgers, chips, mac and cheese, as well as coffee and tea. Attendees can purchase drinks and sweets while following the election on a large screen. – 19:00: The evening will include informal chats and socializing, with opportunities to experience coverage of the election from various perspectives.
