Police conclude search for missing man from Pyhäjärvi believed found in Toholampi
The police have concluded the search for a man who went missing this summer in Pyhäjärvi, as he is believed to have been found. Authorities report that the man is likely the unidentified body discovered in Toholampi’s terrain. The search for the man in his seventies was announced in August, with the last sighting occurring in downtown Kokkola in June.
Despite a thorough search at that time, he could not be located. Authorities do not suspect any foul play related to his disappearance, and the case is being investigated as a death inquiry. The police have stated that they will not provide further updates on the matter.
The unidentified remains were discovered in early October near a nature trail in Toholampi, first spotted by a passerby. Following the discovery, ground searches were organized in collaboration with volunteers. At that time, the police reported that no signs of external violence had been found on the remains.
