Marius Borg Høiby was arrested by police at 4:10 PM on Sunday, August 4, and his mobile phone was confiscated during the incident. Reports indicate that the phone was missing its SIM card and was partially damaged. Høiby stated that the SIM card had been in his phone earlier that day, but he does not know who removed it or where it is now.

Prior to Høiby’s arrest, Crown Princess Mette-Marit was informed about the potential arrest and reportedly went to see him before the police intervention. According to police logs, they were in contact with Høiby at 3:37 PM, and 33 minutes later, they arrived at Jansløkka School in Asker, just below the family’s residence at Skaugum, where he was taken into custody.

Reports emerged suggesting that Crown Princess Mette-Marit tidied up her son’s house before the arrest took place. Accounts confirm that she entered his residence at Skaugum while he was in the shower and began cleaning up due to the untidy state of the living space.

Høiby is registered at the red house on the bottom right of the accompanying image, next to the property where the Crown Prince family resides. NRK attempted to reach Høiby’s defense attorney, Øyvind Bratlien, for comment, but he declined.

The police communicated the situation to the Royal Court, which subsequently informed the Crown Prince couple about the incident involving Høiby and the possibility of his arrest. The police had also notified Høiby prior to the arrest, opting not to apprehend him at his residence, and did not conduct a search there.
