In a vibrant display of creativity, Hagaskóli and Breiðholtsskóli showcased their talents at the annual Skrekk talent competition held in Reykjavík. The event featured numerous young performers taking the stage, with both schools advancing to the next round.

Hagaskóli presented a piece titled “Stingum af,” which addressed the pressing issue of climate change. Their performance depicted a bleak future for Iceland, where the climate had deteriorated to the point of rendering the land uninhabitable.

Breiðholtsskóli’s act, “Hraði lífsins,” focused on the fast-paced nature of modern life. The narrative revolved around twin brothers leading very different lives, with one struggling while others were too preoccupied to notice.

The competition format includes three preliminary rounds, with eight to nine schools participating in each. A panel of judges selects two acts to progress from each round, while an additional two schools can advance via a wildcard option. Ultimately, the top eight schools will compete in the finals, which are scheduled for November 11, broadcast live.

The next preliminary round will take place tomorrow, November 5, streaming live on ruv.is and ruv.is/ungruv.
