Debris removal underway on road between Hvítanes portal and Rókina in Iceland

There is ongoing work to clear debris, known as “sonevnt nevagrót,” located midway on the road between the Hvítanes portal and the roundabout inside the tunnel, as well as on the road from the roundabout out to Rókina.

Currently, the section of the road between the roundabout inside the tunnel and Rókina is closed while crews work to remove the debris from the roadway. Authorities advise drivers to exercise caution on the alternate route.
