Sirið Stenberg, the newly elected chair of Tjóðveldi, remains tight-lipped regarding potential consequences for party members Liljan Weihe and Erling Eidesgaard, who opposed the party leadership during a vote of no confidence against Ingilín D. Strøm, the then Minister of Health.
Stenberg stated, “We will address this internally within the party soon.”
She emphasized the importance of the party’s grassroots support, noting that their input through a letter during the no-confidence proceedings was significant. This grassroots engagement may have helped Tjóðveldi maintain its position in the coalition government.
Hervør Pálsdóttir, the chair of Tjóðveldi’s parliamentary group, has no comments on the matter, pointing out that the party recently held a party meeting and has just returned to work.
