Minor arrested for attempted murder in Paavola, Hyvinkää

A minor is suspected of stabbing a 22-year-old man in Paavola, Hyvinkää, on September 27, as reported by the East Uusimaa Police. The incident occurred in the middle of the street around 9:30 PM, resulting in life-threatening injuries to the victim’s upper body.

Initially, police detained two approximately 20-year-old men from the scene, but they were released after further investigation. A few days later, a 17-year-old boy was arrested and is currently in custody, facing charges of attempted murder. The suspect has denied the allegations.

“We cannot provide further details about the motive at this point in the investigation,” said Crime Commissioner Rauno Jämsä from East Uusimaa Police in a statement.

The victim remains hospitalized in serious condition, and authorities have not yet been able to interview him. According to police, the victim and the suspect were previously acquainted.
