Teachers at Reykjavík’s Menntaskólinn vote on potential strike actions

Teachers at Reykjavík’s Menntaskólinn (MR) are currently voting for a second time on potential strike actions. The voting is ongoing and will conclude at noon tomorrow. Two weeks ago, an overwhelming majority of MR teachers voted in favor of a strike, initially planned to begin on November 11 and continue until December 20. Guðjón Hreinn Hauksson, the chairman of the Secondary School Teachers’ Association, stated that the strike will inevitably be delayed due to the repeated voting process. A new date for the strike will be announced tomorrow.
