Google Maps has once again inaccurately reported that the Archipelago Road in southwestern Finland is closed. In reality, traffic between Kaarina and Parainen is operating normally. The regional ELY Centre announced this on Thursday afternoon after receiving numerous inquiries from confused road users.

Google Maps is directing travelers coming from Turku to take a detour via Rymättylä to reach Parainen. However, the ferry route between Rymättylä and Nagu operates only during the summer season, meaning there is currently no service on this route.

This is not the first instance of Google Maps providing incorrect information about the Archipelago Road, with similar issues recurring over the past year. While there have been temporary traffic arrangements due to bridge construction, the road has never been completely closed.

The ELY Centre has reported the misinformation to Google.
